Longer

Before this season ends
I want to have waited long enough for you,
to have wasted my days
I want to have spent the last coins in my pocket

On flowers
And a plant to restore your faith
on time

Before this season ends
I want to have held your hand long enough
To have your lines imprinted on mine
Like I grow your name
every passing day

Before this season ends
I want to have bundled and frayed
in letters to and from you

Before this season ends
I want to have held the warmth of our puppies
Under my shawl
I want to have handed the hammer while you
knocked in a nail, for that canvas of our gauche art

Before this season ends
I want to have strolled through
the galleries of the world, without haste
I want to have learnt the grandeur of all architecture
through your tales

Before this season ends
I want to have frozen a moments proximity
with you in a frame
Before this season ends
I want to have made plans for tomorrow, and the next year
And the next...

I want to have brought poetry to you
before the season ends

another train ride,
before the season ends;
or soon after...
